Immediately bite on a clean cloth or gauze after rinsing mouth with salt water (1 teaspoon of salt in a cup of warm water) if available. If you have the tooth rinse it gently, do not scrub, and try to place it back in its socket. If unable to do this, place tooth in a container of milk (any kind of cow’s milk) and call our office or Dr. Lawless immediately.
If you have just had a tooth extraction and the bleeding won’t stop bite on a clean cloth or gauze and seek immediate attention. A used teabag is excellent at helping to stop bleeding. Bite on this and call our office, Dr. Lawless or the emergency room at the hospital immediately if the bleeding won’t stop. Read and follow your post op instructions carefully.
